The Ferial de Saint-Georges-d'Hurtières

Grand Filon - Mining Site and the association of Hurtières Ecomuseum Country Hurtières offer on Saturday 7 and Sunday, 8 August the second edition of "Iron Mine's Day." 700 years after the start of mining , residents of Hurtières celebrate the time of a day "the 36 trades and 46 miseries born of peasant labor-minor. The tightrope walker Didier Pasquet and the Theatre Company Daniel GROS will be the highlights of this weekend with shows for the whole family.

The small village of Saint-Georges-d'Hurtières owns mines of iron, which radiate throughout the Savoy in the thirteenth century . Local farmers availing itself of the "customary law" which allows them to go in search of precious vein and make their own farm ... opens a world where "iron" and "know how" intertwined.

Program:

In the hamlet of the Mine, a village of peasants and miners, people are busy around Mine. Miners, stragglers, roasters, crushers, blacksmiths conduct their mining and metallurgical but village life and work of the fields to continue the population.

The small mining world is in turmoil because of the coal masters of Jura, metallurgists of the Alps and the tightrope walker Didier Pasquette are passing through the hamlet. They moved with them to the rhythm Ferial de Saint-Georges-d'Hurtières.

Saturday, August 7, 2010 (from 18h to 0h00).

We will have the honor to welcome the troops Daniel Gros theater at 19:30 for his play "JOHN THE COUNTRY. VINTAGE 1860 ". Comedy Franco-Savoyard lasting about 1 hour, on the 150th anniversary the annexation of Savoy to France (Written by Daniel Gros and with the participation of six professional actors).
