Emergence of Gangsta Rap - 1986 
1986, Phily: the first stirrings of the rap out of NY are felt throughout the country. Schooly D released an album whose eponymous song "PSK" (his original crew Park Side Killers), not to mention "Gucci Time" will become a classic for a generation. First time a single off New York has such an impact. The lyrics speak very provocative murder and whore cram a step in the radicalization. Schooldy D remains a major inspiration for Ice-T and NWA that will use the launcher to impose the style Gangsta Rap. Public Enemy, Rakim and KRS-One will keep the reference to the release of their album.
